Larry Walczak was born in Erie, Pa. and studied art at Columbus College of Art & Design, Mercyhurst University & Ohio University. He created a unique form of collage involving direct imaging of flowers, leaves & other natural forms. He taught collage at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City for several semesters. He has received awards for his collage work from the art councils of New Jersey & New York City. His work is in many prestigious collections including the Museum of Modern Art, Ps 1/MOMA in Queens, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Aysa Geisberg Gallery, Illinois State University & several others.
His artwork & curatorial activities have been documented in The New York Times, Art in America, Time Out New York, ARTnews, The New Yorker, Flash Art (Italy), Village Voice, Brooklyn Rail, Burlington Magazine (UK), The Jersey Journal, The Newark Star Ledger, Erie Times News as well as CNN, NBC and several blogs & websites such as Hyperallergic & ARTnet.
