Edward (Ed) A. Macie was born and raised in Erie, PA. A student of Wilda Sundberg at the Erie Art Center; then instructed by Andrew Sanders at the Erie Art School. Next attended Erie Technical Memorial High School and studied commercial art with Roy Ahlgren. Ed graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York, NY on the Dean’s List, awarded a BFA, and recognized by the Society of Illustrators. Ed returned to Erie and participated in the local arts and worked as a freelance illustrator, and graphic artist for 30 years in Erie; first at PIP Printing then at Emerald Printing. He is currently focusing on painting and drawing with an interest in the classic disciplines of still-life, landscape and portraiture; sharing his gratitude for the beautiful people, precious objects and wondrous places encountered during his lifetime.
