Jamie Borowicz earned his Ph. D. in Anthropology. His dissertation was titled “Images of Power and the Power of Images: Iconography of Stelae as an Indicator of Socio-Political Events in the Early Classic Maya Lowlands”. A significant concurrent component of his anthropological studies is the honing of his talent and dedication to creating fine art. Mr. Borowicz received his undergraduate degree in art education from Mercyhurst College. The two disciplines of art and anthropology are evident in much of the work he has created. Within each watercolor painting, Dr. Borowicz may shift planar reference, commingle various organic patterns, and use evocative tone and color.
