Lynn Marie Fizel is a self-taught artist residing in Erie PA. Her medium is fiber; in particular art quilts. While honoring the traditions of quilting, her work is a radical departure from the genre. Stretched over canvas and utilizing fabric, thread and paint, her pieces offer a kinesthetic compliment to our technological world: a non-linear expression of texture and emotion with a bit of "messiness". Her work has been displayed nationally in the Hoffman Challenge; and locally in the Erie Art Museum Spring Shows, the Ruth Jageman Panorama Juried Art Exhibit, the Dr. And Mrs. Robert Guelcher Art Show, Erie Insurance and many local galleries.
