Mary Miller is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Early in her career she was employed in the graphic arts field working for a newspaper in the art department and later for a laser art company doing layouts and design for colleges and universities as well as overhead signs on interstate highways.  Eventually, leaving that behind, she continued to pursue her love of watercolors, entering shows and exhibiting her work.

Mary’s style is realistic with an emphasis on landscapes. In addition, she frequently uses birds and animals as subjects in her paintings. Living where there are four seasons challenges her to interpret her surroundings into her work while remaining true to the light, color and form that shape those changing times of year. In addition to working on paper she also paints on archival claybord and recently has begun painting 1 inch scenes and creating them into jewelry.
