Jan Lutz
Jan has worked in oil, pastels, colored pencil, collage, and watercolor, her current passion. Nature close-ups and people are recurring themes in her work. Although her work is generally representational, the compositions often start as abstract paintings or collages.
"My personal lifestyle is one of ever-increasing environmental awareness and responsibility. Along with my husband, I live on and manage 18 acres of natural habitat that includes a tributary of French Creek. With a recent acquisition of an additional 3 acres, we plan to put the property into a conservation easement. I have been a staunch supporter of organic and local farming, including our own gardens and orchards, for many years. In traveling, we have supported eco-tourism and local conservation projects in the United States and Latin America."
