FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Announcing the next exhibit for Glass Growers Gallery:

Transitions” Paintings by Rose Lucchesi July 25 to September 10, 2008.
Also featured in the exhibit are Aileen Lampman-Francioni jewelry and George Lampman metalwork. The public is invited to attend the artist’s reception, Friday July 25 from 7 to 9 pm at Glass Growers Gallery 10 East Fifth Street Erie, PA.

A Parisian by birth, Rose Lucchesi was admitted to the Eco De Beaux Arts at the young age of 16. Since that time, she has developed a distinct evocative style, becoming a type of raconteur of the androgynous facial landscape. Her paintings convey a plurality of emotion and a voracious curiosity for the simple line that reveals a potent gesture. Rose paints faces with a sense of immediacy, every line executed with confident skill, emulsifying the voyeuristic quality of the gaze.

Aileen Lampman-Francioni graduated from Edinboro University with a BFA with a focus in metal smith and jewelry making. Her designs are inspired by nature and flowers. A variety of subtle textured surfaces are tenderly imbedded in each silver or gold piece. There is a spiritual reference to her designs, i. e. her lotus blossom necklace or her talisman lockets.

George Lampman inspired by his daughter, recently developed his skill at metal-smithing. He creates various sizes and shapes of fishes, flowers, and suns with flowing curvilinear lines. These shapes are often outlines of the subject and its broader components. These stencil-like shapes interact and compliment dwellings, boardrooms, or gardens.
