On March 12, 2010, In the Moment, new paintings by Nance Jackson will open. This exhibit runs from March 12 to April 20, 2010.
You are invited to attend the artist reception on Friday March 12 from 7 to 10 pm. At the artist reception, you can meet and talk with Nance Jackson.
Nance Jackson implements her intuitive sensibilities to depict many a wistful landscape or iconic still life. Her colors are vivid and lively. Her mood alluring. The textured surface of her paintings reveals a tactile appeal one must resist the urge to touch.
Nance explains her journey: “I love the way an ordinary landscape or simple leaf can be transformed through atmospheric lighting effects. Deciding to take a leap of faith, I left the security (and stress) of my “9 to 5″ (job as a graphic artist) to pursue my art. In choosing this path, I slowly began to awaken… a simple leaf falling at my feet or a farmer’s field suddenly began to captivate me. I couldn’t remember how long it
had been since everything looked so beautiful! My ability to see the pure beauty of nature is certainly a blessing. Using acrylic/mixed media, my paintings depict landscape and still life. I hope my paintings will cause you to take a close look at the simple beauty that is all around.”
